2023 Festive Market in Galway City

For Christmas 2023 the City of the Tribes will be sparkling with the magnificent Galway Christmas Market for an extended period from 6pm onFriday 10th November until Sunday 7th January 2024.

The Galway Continental Christmas Market received over 450,000 visitors last year and there were more than 50 wooden chalets located Eyre Square along with the Big Wheel, Carousel, Santa’s Grotto, the German Bier Keller along with numerous other theatrical delights throughout the four week fair.

Monday – Wednesday: 12 noon – 8pm (bar until 10pm)
Thursday – Saturday: 10am – 10pm
Sunday: 10am – 8pm

2023年的圣诞市场十三年啊f the market in Galway and visitors can expect to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment and stalls located in Eyre Square in Galway City centre. It is expected that this year will once again feature amusement rides including a 32 metre high Big Wheel and traditional Carousel, Santa’s Express Train, live music performers, puppet shows, storytelling, school choirs, and a Santa’s Grotto to be run by local charities.

Food lovers can feast on a bratwurst, French pastries, pretzels or confectionery, crêpes and waffles, while families and friends can enjoy a walk through the enchanted light gardens providing the backdrop for a Christmas Market photo, stop off at Santa’s postbox, interact with local charities and much more.

Coming from Shop Street, take the main path through Eyre Square and about 50m in, you’ll see it on your right in the information kiosk building opposite Roosters Cafe.

Bier Tent at the Christmas Market

The famous Bier Keller at Galway Christmas Market opens daily serving drinks from 5pm until 10pm. From Monday to Sunday you can enjoy mulled wines, hot toddy’s, cocktails or any of their vast array of great beers. Also don’t miss the popular Christmas Jumper day which is expected to be held on Thursday November 16th at the following times 12-3pm | 3.30-6.30pm | 7-10pm. Ticketed event.

The organisers of Galway Christmas Market (Milestone Inventive) have applied for a licence to hold the outdoor event for six weeks this winter, as it has for the past decade, except during COVID-19 which forced its cancellation.

No, access to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Christmas Market is free, but tickets for the Big Wheel, The Carousel along with all Christmas treats, mulled wine drinks and unique gifts come with a price.
